How many come for this price ?
1 whole Simshoe. So if you order a qty of 1, you will receive 2 halves.
My posts measure exactly 1 inch square. Will there be space in the 1 inch shoe to snap together or should I get the 1.25 inch to allow 1/8 inch space around post?
The inside dimension of the 1″ Simshoe measures 1-1/16″
Can this be used on a wood post?
Please measure the post you want to place a Simshoe on. The square Simshoes are designed to fit the following sizes of square posts: 1″, 1.25″, 1.5″ and 2″. The Simshoes will not fit a standard 4×4 wood post.
Do you manufacture any angled shoes? Ones for balusters underneath and handrail?
We do not manufacture angled shoes
The two pieces look like they attach to each other with plastic tabs. Can these be taken on and off to do rail or cement maintenance?
If you choose not to glue them together, they snap and unsnap easily. Can be removed and put back on no problem.
Is an adhesive required?
Adhesive is recommended but not necessarily required. The two ends snap and hold together fine. However, if kicked or bumped, they may come loose. The Simshoes are made of ABS Plastic and it is recommended to use ABS glue or super glue for a more permanent hold.

Split Knuckle
When these snap together they are too wide for the railing. What is the best way to secure them in place?
Silicone Caulk inside the Knuckle. Put a good Bead of Clear or color match Silicone on the inside of the Knuckle, put the knuckle in place and hold it in place with a clamp below it or tape it in place. Be sure that you use enough silicone to get a good hold on the railing. You can wipe any excess that might ooze out. You could also use Siliconized Latex Caulk if you are going to paint the railing at some point.
We need a solution for 3/4 inch railing. Do you make split knuckles that would fit? Can we custom order?
We do not currently manufacture split-knuckles for 3/4″ pickets.
What is the height of these?
